Most of the clients already have an idea what type of boat they look for (size, cabins, equipment). For family sailing we kindly advice Beneteau Oceanis line or one of our Fountaine Pajot Catamarans. For regatta’s and sailing fans we can provide Beneteau First models such as First 27, First 36, First 44 or First 53 to be rented with or without skipper.

Consider the needs of your crew, how many heads should the boat have, which type of mainsail you prefer and whether you need an air condition or generator, if you plan to avoid marinas and stay mostly on anchor.

The cost of a yacht charter in Croatia depends on several factors. Motorboats generally tend to be more expensive than sailing boats or catamarans, and larger yachts with more crew will typically have higher costs. Newer yachts also command higher rates compared to older or classic models. Catamarans, known for their comfort and space, are another premium option.

The timing and duration of your charter play a significant role in determining the overall cost. Most clients opt for one- or two-week charters, with longer durations being less common. Booking by the end of January can secure you an early booking discount, while last-minute charters might offer better rates but with limited availability in terms of boat selection and destinations.

All our charter boats are meticulously maintained and thoroughly inspected each year to ensure a high standard of safety and comfort. For a detailed quote that includes all costs, discounts, and additional expenses like mooring fees and fuel, feel free to request an informative offer from us.

By Croatian law all boats registered for charter must have life belts, first aid box, fire extinguisher, life raft, emergency signals etc. While doing the tehnical check-in procedure our collegues will show you the safety equimpent on board.

If you’re sailing with kids, please inform us in advance about their height and weight so we can provide appropriately sized life jackets. Alternatively, you can bring their life jackets from home. Don’t forget to pack essentials like a hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, sailing shoes, and sunglasses. To protect your child from the sun, it’s important to keep them covered with a light white T-shirt between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The boat can be slippery, so rubber-soled shoes are recommended for most of the time onboard.

Kids don’t need much to stay entertained on a boat—exploring the vessel is often fun enough. They particularly enjoy playing with the dinghy and jumping into the sea from the stern. When choosing a boat, consider one with a safe cockpit, a sturdy stern, and proper Bimini for shade.

Encourage your child to participate in boat duties and make the most of your time together. You can have a wonderful time without TV or smartphones by playing card games, chess, drawing, fishing, and more. To avoid attracting bees, try not to eat sweets while sitting in the cockpit. Plan shorter daily routes and stop in bays where kids can get ice cream and enjoy a good run. Don’t forget to bring pencils, paper, books, and their favorite teddy bear.

When packing for a sailing trip in Croatia, the most important things to remember are your personal items, such as passports, your skipper’s license, and any necessary medications. It’s advisable to use soft luggage, as it fits better into the storage lockers on the boat. As with any holiday, packing light is key—less is more when you’re on the water.

You’ll need sun hats, sunglasses, and light summer clothing for the daytime, as well as swimwear for enjoying the sea. Non-slip shoes are essential for safety on the boat, and trainers are great for onshore activities. For evenings or dining out at restaurants, bring “smart casual” attire—something comfortable yet stylish.

If you’re sailing in the cooler months of May, June or September, it’s wise to pack a sailing suit or jacket and some warmer clothing for the evenings or in case of unexpected cold weather. Additionally, a lightweight windbreaker can be handy for breezy days on the water.

Don’t forget other essentials like sunscreen with a high SPF, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and a small daypack for shore excursions. A first-aid kit with basic supplies, including seasickness tablets, is also recommended. If you plan to explore the local islands and beaches, consider bringing snorkeling gear or water shoes.

For those who enjoy photography, a waterproof camera or a dry bag for your electronics can help capture memories without worrying about water damage. Lastly, a good book, travel games, or a journal can provide entertainment and relaxation during downtime on board.

Croatia recognizes a broad range of skipper’s licenses, as listed by the Croatian Maritime Ministry. The list of valid licenses is extensive, and we can provide it to you via email upon request so you can verify whether your license is accepted.

To ensure a smooth start to your sailing holiday, it’s a good idea to send us a copy of your skipper’s license via email before finalizing your booking and payment. This allows us to confirm its validity and avoid any last-minute issues.

In addition to a valid skipper’s license, you must also have a VHF  radio license on board. This license is required for operating the boat’s communication equipment. The VHF license can be held by any member of the crew, not necessarily the skipper.

If you are unsure whether your current licenses meet Croatian regulations or need assistance with the documentation, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help you navigate the requirements and ensure you are fully prepared for your sailing adventure in Croatia.

Yes, you can pre-order provisions through our booking department. We will provide you with a link to an online shopping list where you can select the items you need. You can schedule the delivery time for when it suits you best (we recommend scheduling it for after 4 PM) and complete the payment online. This service ensures that your provisions will be delivered directly to your boat, allowing you to start your sailing adventure with everything you need already on board.

The best time for sailing in Croatia largely depends on your preferences and planned activities, such as sailing, swimming, or island exploration:

  • Late Spring (April to June): This period is ideal for sailing as the days are long, wind conditions are favorable, and the islands are less crowded, especially in early April and May. It’s a great time for enjoying tranquil waters and exploring without the peak season crowds.
  • Early Fall (September): The end of September offers calm seas and pleasant temperatures, making it another excellent time for sailing and swimming. The summer heat starts to wane, providing comfortable conditions for outdoor activities.
  • Summer (July and August): These months are popular for their warm weather and ideal swimming conditions. While the islands are busier and more crowded, it’s a great time for those looking to fully experience the vibrant summer atmosphere and enjoy the Croatian coast.
  • Spring and Fall (April and October): These months are also favored for regattas and are perfect for those who enjoy quieter, off-season sailing. Berth costs are generally lower, and finding available moorings is easier.

Each season offers a unique experience, so consider your preferences for weather, crowd levels and activities when planning your sailing trip.

Croatia boasts an extensive network of over 130 marinas, municipal ports, and leisure harbors spread along its stunning coastline, making it a top destination for sailors. These marinas range from small, charming harbors in picturesque towns to large, fully-equipped marinas with comprehensive services.

Among these, 22 marinas are managed by the renowned ACI group, which is the largest marina chain in the Adriatic. In addition to ACI marinas, there are numerous privately and state-owned marinas, each offering unique amenities and experiences.

For those renting boats from Ultra Sailing, there’s an added advantage: vessels moored at ACI Marina Split, ACI Marina Pomer, or ACI Marina Dubrovnik benefit from discounts when staying at any other ACI Marina along the coast.

These marinas offer a wide range of services, including water and electricity supply, fuel stations, maintenance and repair facilities, restaurants, shops, and more. Many marinas also provide Wi-Fi, laundry services and access to nearby attractions.

Yes, all marinas in Croatia provide parking facilities, typically at a rate of 10-15€ per day. However, it’s important to note that many marinas were built over 25 years ago, and parking spaces were not designed to meet today’s high demand. As a result, finding available parking during the peak season can be challenging, as spaces are often overbooked.

If you’re concerned about parking availability, we can recommend alternative private parking solutions outside the marina.

The cost of berthing in Croatian marinas varies depending on several factors, including the size of your boat, the time of year and the level of service provided by the marina. Croatian marinas are well-equipped, offering a range of services such as electricity, water supply, restaurants, shops, showers, laundry facilities and more. Many marinas are situated in prime locations, such as ACI Marina Korčula or ACI Marina Palmižana, which are popular among sailors for their proximity to beautiful islands and vibrant towns.

In general, the cost for a berth in Croatian marinas ranges between 8€ and 20€ per meter of the boat’s length. This fee typically includes essential services like electricity, water consumption, and access to other facilities within the marina.

If you prefer to anchor using a mooring buoy, the prices are generally lower, ranging from 3€ to 8€ per meter of the boat’s length. Mooring buoys are often available in scenic bays and are a more economical option for those looking to spend a night away from the busier marinas.

Yes, we offer the option of a one-way charter from Split to Dubrovnik, or vice versa. However, this service comes with an additional charge due to the logistical requirements involved. The extra fee covers several costs, including:

  • Mooring Fee: One day of mooring at the check-out base in Dubrovnik or Split.
  • Skipper’s Fee: The cost of hiring a skipper to transfer the boat back to its original base.
  • Fuel Costs: The fuel required to sail the boat back to the starting point, which is approximately 100 nautical miles.

Please note that check-out for one-way charters is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 15:00. This allows sufficient time for the boat to be prepared and returned to its home base.

One-way charters offer a fantastic way to explore more of Croatia’s stunning coastline, allowing you to experience different locations without retracing your route. Whether you start in Split and sail to the historic city of Dubrovnik, or begin in Dubrovnik and head north towards the vibrant city of Split, a one-way charter offers a unique and flexible sailing adventure

Yes, it is possible to sail outside of Croatian waters, depending on your departure location and destination. For example, if you’re sailing from Pula, you can get permission to sail to Italy. Similarly, boats departing from Split, Trogir or Dubrovnik can be authorized to sail to Montenegro. However, sailing outside of Croatian waters requires prior approval and must be arranged in advance.

If you plan to sail internationally, please inform us of your intentions when you make your booking. This allows us to secure the necessary permissions and provide you with the appropriate boat documents required for crossing international borders.

Once your booking is confirmed, our office will send you a booking confirmation along with the necessary SWIFT and IBAN payment details. We accept payments via bank transfer or credit card.

If you need to cancel your charter reservation, it’s important to inform Ultra d.o.o. as soon as possible. The cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 30 days before the charter start date: If you cancel your reservation more than a month before the first day of the charter, you will be charged 35% of the total weekly yacht charter price.
  • Less than 30 days before the charter start date: If you cancel your reservation less than a month before the first day of the charter, you will be charged 100% of the total weekly charter price.

We strongly recommend that you obtain travel insurance in your home country, as most policies offer coverage for trip cancellations. This can provide peace of mind and financial protection in the event that unforeseen circumstances prevent you from starting your charter.

Before taking over the vessel, the client is required to leave a safety deposit in a specified amount, either in cash (EUR) or as a credit card hold (Visa or MasterCard). This deposit is a security measure to cover any potential damages or loss of equipment during the charter.

At the end of the charter, the full deposit will be returned to the client, provided that no damages or losses have occurred. If any damage or loss is found, a portion of the deposit will be retained to cover the necessary repairs or replacement of equipment.

Please note that leaving a deposit is mandatory even when a skipper provided by Ultra d.o.o. is hired. However, the deposit cannot be used to cover costs resulting from the skipper’s negligence or improper handling of the vessel or its equipment, as the skipper has separate insurance to cover such incidents.
