Who should choose skippered yacht charter

Skippered sailing holidays in Croatia offer a unique way to experience the Adriatic coastline, combining adventure with relaxation while enjoying the benefits of professional guidance during your skippered sailing holidays in Croatia.

The skippered boat can be chosen by a family or group of friends who would like to leave all the responsibility to a skipper. Skipper’s or sailing license is not obligatory.
Sailing skills are not necessary but those who would like to participate in daily sailing can simply learn from skipper. Sometimes we even have advanced skipper requests for regattas so even the experienced crews sometimes choose someone who will be master of the boat in the purpose of having more pleasure in a chartered term.
Skipper have the local knowledge of the sailing area, so you will have the advantage of having some kind of “guide” on board.

Skipper on board – Croatia yacht charter with skipper

Our skippers are professional and experienced in navigating boats in Croatia, Greece, Italy, and beyond. All are Croatian nationals who speak multiple languages and are aged between 25 and 50. They are registered for skippered charters, and many have been sailing since childhood, pursuing a career as skippers.

Their responsibilities include conducting check-ins and check-outs of the boat’s technical aspects, advising the crew on routes, moorings, and weather conditions.

While a skipper may occasionally need to adjust the planned route due to weather conditions, this is always done with the safety of both the guests and the boat in mind. We strive to pair the right skipper with the right group, which is why we have a “skipper request form” for you to fill out. This helps us understand your preferences and make the best match.

Necessary documents – skippered boat and safety deposit

As skipper will have valid sailing license and VHF license, your crew just need to have a passport or ID.

Safety Deposit: All boats are insured, but a safety deposit must be provided even while sailing with our skipper to cover any damages caused by the crew (e.g., broken windows or doors).

Refundable Deposit: This deposit can be charged via credit card (preferred) or in cash. After the boat is returned and undergoes a technical check with the skipper, the deposit amount will be unblocked and returned to you. If the damage is less than the safety deposit, we will still unblock your card and charge only the actual repair cost. If the damage is the skipper’s fault, their insurance will cover it, and your deposit will be fully refunded.
