The ISPA Competent Crew Sail shore-base program is the same as the classic Competent Crew embarked course. Depending on the term, you can take the class in ACI marina Split or from 2026 from ACI marina Pomer in Pula.
Shore-based courses are available in early spring and late autumn. Participants have theory in the classroom in the morning, sail out in the afternoon and come back to home port in the evening. Accommodation on one of our boats in the marina is included in April and October. Participants are free to arrange their own accommodation on land.
Shore based courses are usually held on First 27 Seascape in Split, and on Oceanis 30.1 in Pula (maximum 4 participants).
Shore-based is the perfect choice for you if :
- you are a beginner and are unsure of how you will feel for a prolonged time on a boat. Each night you get to reset in your accommodation before sailing again the next day.
- you live in Split or Pula and want to sleep at home while learning to sail as a day activity
- it is your first visit to Split or Pula, and this makes it the perfect combination of city trip and active vacation.
We encourage students to book in advance in order to have time to study the online theory course and pass the theory exam before the practical course. Theory essentials are explained again by the instructor in the classroom during the course.
Location of the next Shore-based courses :
- Split : 06.09. (12h) – 10.09. (17h)
- Pula : 20.09. (12h) – 24.09. (17h)
- Pula : 04.10. (12h) – 08.10. (17h)
