This practical sailboat handling training is designed to help newly licensed skippers gain confidence in their abilities and a sense of safety. Priority upon booking will be given to Day Skipper certificate holders or equivalent.
Students with a Competent Crew level are welcome to join to perfect their crewing skills before they apply for a Day Skipper course. They will be assigned tasks to assist the skippers so crews are expected to master the basic sailing vocabulary in English.
Skippers will upgrade their skills on manoeuvring the boat in more challenging conditions or narrow marinas and improve their single-handed sailing abilities.
Our experienced instructor will evaluate your level, advise what should be worked on so that you achieve your sailing goals, and share valuable tips and first-hand experience as a skipper ready to charter bareboat in Croatia.
This intensive three-day advanced sailing program will tackle the following themes depending on the student’s needs:
- Perfecting your sailing skills, including sail trimming and single-handed sailing
- Manoeuvring inside the port and berthing with crew assistance
- Manoeuvring under engine in windy conditions
- Anchoring practice, choosing the right spot
- Rehearsing man overboard manoeuvre
- Discovering Gennaker / Code zero sailing, if weather allows, and how front sails can contribute to cruising
This time at sea is of course also the occasion to enjoy the scenic beauty of sailing around middle-Dalmatia when your schedule does not allow you to dedicate a whole week to training.
