The Coastal Navigator sailing course is designed for advanced sailors looking to enhance their skills. The course accommodates 4 to 5 participants, who will spend each night aboard the boat at a different island. The daily sailing distance is approximately 30 nautical miles (NM).
Course content: Sailing between islands, understanding navigation charts and aids, signs and abbreviations, anchoring techniques, side and Mediterranean mooring, collision avoidance at sea, proper use of lights, knots, weather forecasting, nautical publications, protractor usage, and concepts of variation and deviation. Night passages will be organised according to the initial planning and are not described in the dynamic daily schedule below.
Information
- Pre-course experience: ISPA Day Skipper, Ultra Navigation Course or similar
- Participants are required to bring their ISPA Logbook to the course
- Participants need to have swimming ability and appropriate fitness condition for the practice of sailing
- Possible changes to the program due to weather conditions
- We recommend using sunscreen and white tee-shirt during summer, hat, non slippery sailing shoes or sneakers, warm sport clothes for winter.
- Licence and Ability after the course ISPA Coastal Navigator certificate. This licence is approved by the Ministry of the Sea in Croatia-MMPI at the same level as the ISPA Day skipper
- This certificate is the pre-requisite for Coastal Skipper course. The Coastal Skipper certificate is requested in some charter destinations in more challenging areas for weekly rentals.
